Twenty One At Twenty One

Today marks my 21st birthday, I've been on this planet for 21 years. I am now officially what you call an adult? I feel like I'm in a good position to look back on my twenty one years to see what I've learnt.  I have so much life ahead of me and I am just getting started! The lessons along the way are what have made me who I am today.

1. Keep an open mind and an open heart.

2. Love yourself and everything that you stand for.

3. Comparison really is the thief of joy. Comparing yourself to someone else really will make you miserable.

4. I can’t adult and I don’t want to adult but I have to adult so I get on with it

5. Mental Illness doesn’t define you as a person

6. It’s okay if you don’t have your life figured out just yet. Its ok to not know what you’re doing. You’re not alone.

7. Those bad days your having? You’re alive now, tomorrow is a new day. A fresh start.

8. Be ready for all of the things that life throws at you but don’t always expect the worst

9. Life is beautiful and precious. Treasure it

10. Choose happiness

11. No one is better than you, we are all equal and worthy

12. Always be humble and kind.

13. Being different is your greatest asset. Be the best version of you, love your weird quirks and differences. They make you who you are.

14. Don’t be so hard on yourself, learn to be your own best friend & biggest fan

15. Life is not race, everyone is at different stages in their lives.

16. It's okay to open up and be real

17. Don't change who you are.

18. Work on yourself for you.

19. Celebrate every little achievement. No matter how big or small.

20. Do what you love and what you enjoy.

21. You're still learning, life is a learning process

So that is my list of 21 things i've learnt and still learning. I'm so grateful for all the love and support i receive including all the little things.

  1. Happy belated birthday, I hope you had an amazing day! The points you've mentioned in this post are so important & I agree with all of them. Something I always remind myself of is definitely number 3 :) x
