Hayley Kiyoko - Girls Like Girls Music Video

this video has pretty much taken the internet by storm, its one badass video and that's why i've been loving this awesome video.

“Beyond the love story the video also has a theme of self-acceptance and standing firm for what we want and believe in. Whether you’re fighting yourself, your feelings, or the judgements of others; the despair, joy and relief felt when you’re true to yourself makes it all worthwhile” - Hayley Kiyoko

20 Lessons Learnt From One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill is great for teaching you lesson's of life just as much as your parents and the world or just TV in general is awesome at teaching us life lessons i think... I'm not gonna lie, I stopped watching One Tree Hill after Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left their respective roles of my OTP Lucas and Peyton but it didn't stop me learning some pretty valuable lessons from this show and occasionally watching the other seasons.

27 Things "One Tree Hill" Taught Us

#19 No matter what goes on in our lives we are strong enough to pull through it.

#20 Everyone, like you, is just searching for that one little bit of greatness in their lives.

Whether it was Peyton with her sketches, Nathan with his basketball, Haley with her music, Brooke with her clothing designs, or Lucas with his novels, we saw how much their art mattered. It was powerful enough to change their lives and the lives of those around them—and so is yours.

One Tree Hill is a show that shaped the lives of everyone that watched. If you followed the lives people lived in Tree Hill, then you completely understand the life lesssons each season brought its viewers. Make sure you have friends like Lucas had at the River Court, love unconditionally like Brooke Davis would, be the best person you can be like Nathan was, deal with pain and life the way Peyton did (just don't run any red lights in the process), and always follow your dreams the way Haley did. There are so many stories and so many lessons learned from the characters in this show, and there really only ever will be One Tree Hill.

Favourite Movie Classics

As you can tell from my last post I've been watching alot of sound of music, so why not do a favourite movie classics post! These are the movies that i don't think I'd ever get bored of - Enjoy!!

Breakfast At Tiffany's

First off what's not to love about Breakfast At Tiffany's, it has the beautiful Audrey Hepburn, glamour & of course New York.
I just love the beauty of this film and not to forget Moon River..

Synopsis -
Based on Truman Capote's novel, this is the story of a young woman in New York City who meets a young man when he moves into her apartment building. He is with an older woman who is very wealthy, but he wants to be a writer. She is working as an expensive escort and searching for a rich, older man to marry.

Sound Of Music

A film for all generations, again what's not to love about the Sound Of Music? the music, Captain Von Trapp who is/was everyone's crush when watching this movie and of course the lovely Julie Andrews.
Oh my goodness.. my favourite part is when he dances with her and then they stare.. she blushes, he grins and the scene in the gazebo was so adorable. They were so sweet in this movie. I'm such a romantic sap! :-) I want my very own Captain Von Trapp the Christopher Plummer edition

Synopsis - A tuneful, heartwarming story, it is based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world's best-known concert groups in the era immediately preceding World War II. Julie Andrews plays the role of Maria, the tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey who becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children, and brings a new love of life and music into the home.

Dirty Dancing

Dirty Dancing is awesome, what's not to love yet again Patrick Swayze in this era, the dancing and the music is brilliant - lets not forget those songs are classics. i could watch this film endlessly.
Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle is a dreamboat.

Synopsis - Baby (Jennifer Grey) is one listless summer away from the Peace Corps. Hoping to enjoy her youth while it lasts, she's disappointed when her summer plans deposit her at a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. Her luck turns around, however, when the resort's dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Baby's father forbids her from seeing Johnny, but she's determined to help him perform the last big dance of the summer.

 1. Flashdance

First time i'd seen this is when my mum got this on DVD for my 20th birthday, and i loved it! The character is all round awesome and fearless - how awesome would it be to move like Alex. The music is really catchy that you have a little boogie to..

Synopsis - Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) is a beautiful young woman who works a day job in a steel mill and dances in a bar at night. When Alex discovers that her handsome boss, Nick Hurley (Michael Nouri), is both interested in her and supportive of her performing career, she renews her efforts to get accepted into a prestigious dance conservatory. Although Alex is frightened of failure, she is cheered on by Nick, as well as by her mentor, former ballet performer Hanna Long (Lilia Skala).

Pretty Woman

whats not to love, a guy who is rich falls in love with a woman who doesn't have the lavish lifestyle, you just kinda root for them to be together i think. Julia Roberts is effortlessly beautiful and Richard Gere is lovely. They both go on a journey of self discovery.

Synopsis - In this modern update on Cinderella, a prostitute and a wealthy businessman fall hard for one another, forming an unlikely pair. While on a business trip in L.A., Edward (Richard Gere), who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up a hooker, Vivian (Julia Roberts), on a lark. After Edward hires Vivian to stay with him for the weekend, the two get closer, only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

I hope you enjoyed this movie classic heaven, let me know what your favourite classics are.

The Sound Of Music

Since i got this on DVD for my birthday after always catching it halfway through whenever it was on TV , I've been watching this religiously... so i thought I'd do a post on this fab movie.

i love this film so much, the story, where it is set (Salzburg, Austria) which is a pretty place, judging by the pictures and of course having a crush on Captain Von Trapp.
This year marked 50 years of The Sound Of Music in March.

here are the pictures from the vanity fair 50th anniversary shoot for your slight curiosity

The Sound Of Music was filmed in between Austria and at FOX studios in Los Angeles - The original plan was to shoot in Salzburg for 6 weeks. However, because of continuing rain, they ended up staying in the city for 11 (Location shooting in Salzburg lasted three months) A total of eighty-three scenes were filmed in just over five months.

I love Christopher Plummer in this, lets be honest everyone loved Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp. The love story between the Captain and Maria is lovely, like you root for them at the beginning - no? just me then.. Those moments between them are so sweet throughout the film.
Lets not forget about the songs, you can never just watch the film without singing along even after watching the entire film you still sing to you hearts content they are classics. My favourite songs would be Edelweiss, My Favourite Things, Something Good, Do-Re-Mi, Lonely Goatherd.

The Captain and Maria Dance the Laendler

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer's chemistry is amazing, they have a lovely connection. they grew close whilst filming and are close friends to this day

Julie Andrews is a legend, i love her other works in the Princess Diaries (which is another one of my favourites) Her voice in the film is mesmerising - She is an endless beauty like Audery Hepburn.

Christopher Plummer as Georg is certainly an attraction, he looks handsome in his uniform, he's just very handsome tbh I can't have been the only one to have a crush on him when I was younger and i still have a crush on him now, he's so dashing.. i just love everything about him especially his eyes and smile.

have two bonus Georg gifs:

everyone sings along to this movie, i know i certainly do - its hard not too.. Maria and Georg was the first ship everyone shipped before they knew what shipping meant!

hope you enjoyed this lovely post of the sound of music. What are your favourite songs from this movie?
